GMB Membership & Service Terms and Conditions
These Membership & Service Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Agreement” or “Terms and Conditions”) govern the relationship between Gupta Ji Marriage Bureau Pvt. Ltd. (“GMB”, “Gupta Ji Marriage Bureau”, “we”, “us” or “our”) and the individual, parent, family representative or other authorised person enrolling for GMB's matchmaking services (“Member”, “you” or “your”).
By completing the membership process, making payment, signing an applicable membership document, accepting these Terms electronically, or otherwise instructing GMB to commence its services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms.
These Terms should be read together with the applicable GMB Website Terms of Use, Privacy Policy / Privacy Notice, membership form, invoice, fee schedule and any other written service document expressly incorporated into the Member's engagement with GMB.
1. About GMB and the Nature of the Service
Gupta Ji Marriage Bureau Pvt. Ltd. is a relationship-led matchmaking and matrimonial consulting firm established in 1995.
GMB provides matchmaking and related services through personal interaction, understanding matrimonial requirements, profile assessment, identification of potentially suitable profiles, introductions, facilitation of communication and meetings, visits where applicable, and related guidance.
GMB is a matchmaking service provider. GMB is not an insurer, guarantor of matrimonial outcomes, legal investigator, forensic investigator, financial auditor, medical examiner, psychologist, property/title investigator, governmental verification authority or professional adviser in those fields.
The exact services available to a Member depend upon the applicable membership plan, service level and scope communicated and accepted at the time of enrolment.
2. Definitions
“Member” means the individual for whom the matchmaking service is being provided and/or the parent, relative or family representative authorised to act in connection with that membership.
“Profile” means the matrimonial, personal, family, professional, photographic or other information maintained or communicated for matchmaking purposes.
“Introduction” means a communication or facilitated connection between a Member and another prospective individual or family for matrimonial purposes.
“Membership Period” means the period for which the applicable membership service is active, as specified in the accepted membership plan, invoice or written confirmation.
“Membership Fee” means the fee charged for the selected membership/service plan.
“Visit” means a physical visit by a GMB director, officer, employee, consultant or authorised representative to meet a Member, family or prospective family, make an enquiry, conduct a matchmaking-related interaction, facilitate a meeting, assess circumstances or provide another service specifically connected with the Member's engagement.
“Visit Charge” means any separate professional/service charge applicable to a Visit where that Visit is not expressly included within the Member's selected membership plan.
“Visit Expenses” means reasonable travel and other out-of-pocket expenses incurred or to be incurred in connection with a Visit, which may include transportation, airfare, railway fare, accommodation, meals, local conveyance, visa-related costs where applicable, and other reasonable travel-related expenses.
“Marriage Budget” means the estimated or declared overall budget for the relevant marriage/wedding as communicated by the applicable Member or family to GMB and recorded, acknowledged or otherwise reasonably determined for calculating the applicable Alliance/Service Fee. Where the budget is materially revised before that fee is settled, GMB may request confirmation of the revised figure.
“Alliance Confirmation” means the point at which the Member or relevant family confirms to GMB that the alliance has been fixed, including through a confirmed engagement, roka or other formal confirmation of the intended marriage, or otherwise confirms that the alliance arranged through or resulting from GMB's services has been fixed.
“Alliance/Service Fee” means the separate fee payable to GMB upon Alliance Confirmation under Clause 15 of these Terms.
“GMB Material” means GMB's proprietary website content, documents, templates, processes, written material, branding, designs, photographs, videos and other intellectual property.
3. Eligibility and Authority
The Member confirms that:
- all information provided to GMB is provided honestly and for a lawful matrimonial purpose.
- the Member is legally competent to enter into this Agreement, or the person enrolling on behalf of the Member has appropriate authority to do so.
- the relevant individual is legally eligible to participate in the matrimonial process.
- where a parent, relative or family representative acts for another adult, such person has appropriate authority to provide information and communicate with GMB for the relevant purposes.
- the Member will comply with applicable law and these Terms.
GMB may request reasonable information or documentation to establish identity, age, authority or other information relevant to its services.
4. Information Supplied by the Member
The Member is responsible for ensuring that information supplied to GMB is accurate, current and not materially misleading.
This may include information relating to:
- identity;
- age;
- marital status;
- education;
- occupation;
- business or employment;
- family background;
- location;
- photographs;
- lifestyle;
- matrimonial expectations;
- professional or social information;
- other information relevant to matchmaking;
The Member agrees to promptly inform GMB if any material information previously supplied changes.
If material false, misleading, fraudulent or concealed information is identified, GMB may suspend or terminate the membership and may take other steps available under these Terms and applicable law.
5. GMB's Verification and Validation Process
GMB may undertake reasonable verification, validation, clarification, reference checking and review of information as GMB considers appropriate for its matchmaking services.
GMB's verification process is intended for matchmaking purposes.
It does not constitute governmental verification; police, criminal or forensic investigation; financial audit; medical examination; psychological assessment; property or land-title investigation; departmental or regulatory verification; independent audit of business or professional affairs; or certification that every statement, document or representation is completely true, exhaustive or continuously current.
GMB may rely, in whole or in part, upon information, documents, representations, references and sources made available by the Member or reasonably accessible to GMB.
Where information supplied by a Member or third party is false, incomplete or misleading, GMB shall not be treated as guaranteeing its truth merely because GMB undertook ordinary matchmaking-level checks, provided GMB followed its applicable process and had no reasonable basis to identify it as false.
The Member remains responsible for the truthfulness and completeness of information supplied by the Member.
6. What GMB Agrees to Provide
Subject to the selected membership plan, GMB may:
- understand and document the Member's matrimonial requirements.
- review and organise the Member's profile.
- assess potentially suitable profiles.
- cross-reference requirements with available profiles.
- provide relevant biodata or profile information where appropriate.
- clarify relevant information with families where reasonably appropriate.
- facilitate introductions.
- assist in arranging or coordinating meetings or conversations where applicable.
- conduct or arrange Visits where the applicable arrangement includes or separately authorises such Visits.
- provide reasonable guidance concerning the matchmaking process.
- provide other services expressly included in the Member's selected plan.
GMB may determine the sequence, method, timing and operational approach by which these services are delivered, subject to the services expressly promised under the applicable membership plan.
The availability and timing of introductions may be affected by suitable-profile availability, family preferences, geographic limitations, changing requirements, responses and other circumstances outside GMB's reasonable control.
7. No Guarantee of a Match, Marriage or Particular Outcome
GMB does not guarantee that:
- a particular profile will be identified;
- a particular family will accept an introduction;
- any prospective individual will respond;
- an introduction will result in a meeting;
- a meeting will result in continued communication;
- an introduction will result in an engagement;
- an engagement will result in marriage;
- a marriage will continue successfully;
The Member acknowledges that matrimonial decisions depend upon independent human choices, compatibility, family circumstances and events outside GMB's control.
GMB's obligation is to provide the matchmaking services expressly undertaken under the applicable membership arrangement, not to guarantee a matrimonial result.
8. Independent Due Diligence by the Member
Any introduction made through GMB is an opportunity for the parties to communicate and independently evaluate one another.
Before making any significant personal, financial, legal or matrimonial decision, the Member is responsible for undertaking such independent enquiries and due diligence as the Member considers appropriate.
- identity;
- age;
- marital status;
- education;
- employment or business;
- financial circumstances;
- property or assets;
- family circumstances;
- references;
- health-related matters;
- legal matters;
- compatibility;
- other matters important to the Member;
GMB may provide guidance or assistance in relation to the matchmaking process, but such assistance does not replace independent professional advice or due diligence.
9. Introductions and Third-Party Conduct
GMB facilitates introductions between individuals and families.
GMB does not control and cannot guarantee the conduct, statements, intentions, honesty, compatibility, financial circumstances, health, character, future actions or decisions of an individual or family introduced through its services.
A Member must not treat an introduction, profile, recommendation or communication from GMB as a representation that the other party is suitable for marriage, financially secure, medically fit, socially compatible or free from all undisclosed circumstances.
Where information becomes known to GMB that materially affects an introduction, GMB may take reasonable action, including requesting clarification, withholding an introduction or suspending further engagement.
10. Responsibility Following an Introduction, Engagement or Marriage
Once GMB has made an introduction and performed the services expressly undertaken, the subsequent relationship and private affairs of the parties remain their responsibility.
- communications;
- meetings;
- relationship;
- engagement;
- marriage;
- household or family arrangements;
- financial decisions;
- personal disagreements;
- post-marriage conduct;
- other private or family matters;
GMB shall not assume responsibility merely because GMB originally introduced the parties.
GMB may, as a goodwill measure and without creating an additional contractual obligation, provide general guidance after an introduction, engagement or marriage. Such guidance is advisory and does not make GMB a party to the relationship or responsible for its outcome.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
11. Meetings, Visits and Personal Safety
Members are responsible for exercising appropriate caution and judgment when meeting another person or family.
GMB may facilitate or coordinate a meeting, but a Member remains responsible for personal safety, independent assessment and decisions during or after it. GMB does not control private communications or meetings occurring independently between Members.
Any suspected threat, harassment, intimidation, fraud, impersonation, coercion or unsafe conduct should be reported to GMB as soon as reasonably possible.
GMB may suspend or terminate service where it reasonably believes conduct creates a safety, security or integrity concern.
12. Visit Charges and Out-of-Pocket Expenses
A Visit by a GMB director, officer, employee, consultant or authorised representative is not automatically included in every membership plan. Inclusion, number, location, scope and pricing depend upon the selected plan or separate written arrangement.
12.1 Visits Included in the Membership Plan
Where a plan expressly states that a Visit is included, no separate Visit Charge is payable within the stated scope. Expenses expressly excluded remain payable separately.
12.2 Visits Not Included in the Membership Plan
Where a Visit is not included, GMB may charge a separate Visit Charge communicated in advance, depending upon location, nature, duration and scope.
12.3 Visits Outside Delhi / NCR
Unless expressly included, a Visit outside GMB's ordinary Delhi/NCR service area is not automatically included. The Member may be required to pay the Visit Charge and/or bear or reimburse reasonable Visit Expenses, as agreed in advance.
12.4 International Visits
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, the Member shall bear the applicable Visit Charge and reasonable Visit Expenses, including international travel, accommodation, meals, local transportation, visa or related travel-document expenses and other direct reasonable costs. GMB need not undertake the Visit until the charge and expense arrangements are confirmed.
12.5 Payment of Visit Expenses
The Member may pay third-party expenses directly, provide advance funds, reimburse GMB, or use another method agreed in writing. GMB may require payment or reimbursement where it pays an expense on the Member's behalf.
12.6 Advance Approval
GMB may provide an estimate. Actual reasonable expenses may differ due to travel availability, fares, accommodation, exchange rates, local transportation, visas or other circumstances outside GMB's control. Where practicable, GMB will seek approval before materially exceeding an agreed estimate.
12.7 No Implied Inclusion
Providing matchmaking services does not itself oblige GMB to travel or bear Visit Expenses. A Member's travel request does not itself mean travel is included within the Membership Fee.
13. Membership Fee and Payment
The Member shall pay the applicable Membership Fee communicated at enrolment and reflected in the relevant invoice, payment record, membership form or written confirmation.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, membership activates after enrolment and payment; the Membership Fee is separate from Visit Charges, Visit Expenses and the Alliance/Service Fee; applicable taxes including GST may be additional; and GMB need not commence services until required conditions are satisfied.
The Member is responsible for accurate payment information. A third-party payment provider's terms may also apply.
14. Membership Period
The Membership Period is specified in the accepted membership plan, invoice or written confirmation and ordinarily commences when GMB confirms activation or begins service following enrolment and payment.
Extensions and renewals are subject to the applicable terms and fees. Membership does not automatically renew unless separately agreed.
15. Alliance / Service Fee — 1% of the Marriage Budget
Where an alliance or marriage is fixed as a result of an introduction or matchmaking service provided by GMB, a separate Alliance/Service Fee becomes payable in addition to the Membership Fee and applicable Visit Charges or Expenses.
15.1 Fee Amount
Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, the Alliance/Service Fee is 1% (one percent) of the applicable Marriage Budget, payable separately by each participating party/family. Where both parties are GMB Members and subject to the fee, each is responsible for its own 1% fee.
15.2 Alliance Confirmation
The fee becomes due upon Alliance Confirmation, including when the Member or family confirms the alliance is fixed; the families formally intend to proceed; a roka, engagement or comparable commitment is confirmed; or GMB receives reliable confirmation that the parties mutually agreed to proceed following a GMB introduction. GMB may request written confirmation.
15.3 Calculation of Marriage Budget
The Marriage Budget is the figure communicated to and reasonably recorded or acknowledged by GMB. GMB may request reasonable confirmation. If materially revised before settlement, the fee may be recalculated against the revised figure.
15.4 Separate Responsibility of Each Party
Each participating party/family is independently responsible for its own fee. One party's obligation is not discharged because the other has paid.
15.5 Fee Earned Upon Alliance Confirmation
Once Alliance Confirmation occurs, the fee is earned for services resulting in the alliance and is not dependent on the engagement length, wedding date or celebrations, continuation of marriage, or later personal circumstances. Postponement, cancellation, separation or later events do not by themselves reverse the due fee, subject to rights that cannot legally be excluded.
15.6 Introduction Followed by Independent Continuation
Where GMB introduced the parties and they continue independently, the fee remains payable if the alliance results from or is materially connected with that introduction and Alliance Confirmation occurs. A Member shall promptly inform GMB when it occurs.
15.7 Taxes and Invoicing
The fee will be invoiced and accounted for under applicable law. GST, taxes, levies or statutory amounts may be additional. GMB may issue separate payment documents to each responsible party.
16. Cancellation and Refunds
GMB does not offer a general cancellation or refund entitlement merely because a Member changes their mind or circumstances, no longer wishes to proceed or communicate, does not find a suitable profile immediately, or an introduction does not result in a relationship, engagement or marriage.
Where GMB has commenced profile review, matchmaking work, introductions, consultations, Visits or other activity, the Member is not entitled to a refund merely because they later choose not to continue.
GMB may, in exceptional circumstances and at its commercial discretion, provide a full or partial refund, including where continued service is inappropriate for safety, integrity, operational suitability or other exceptional reasons.
Visit Charges and Expenses already incurred, committed or paid may remain payable despite cancellation, subject to communicated terms and applicable law. Nothing excludes a refund, remedy or statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Fraud, Misrepresentation, Misconduct and Protection of GMB
GMB may refuse, suspend, restrict or terminate services where it reasonably believes a Member or associated representative has:
- supplied materially false or fraudulent information;
- concealed a material matrimonial fact;
- impersonated another person;
- misused another person's confidential information;
- threatened, harassed or abused GMB personnel;
- engaged in intimidation, coercion or unsafe conduct;
- attempted to cause physical or financial harm to GMB, its personnel or property;
- deliberately interfered with GMB's operations;
- misused GMB's services for an unlawful or improper purpose;
- attempted to damage GMB's systems or security;
- made material misrepresentations concerning the purpose of the engagement;
- otherwise engaged in conduct that GMB reasonably considers materially inconsistent with the integrity, safety or legitimate interests of GMB or its members;
Where appropriate, GMB may request clarification, supporting information or an opportunity to respond. It may act immediately where necessary for safety, security, fraud prevention or its legitimate interests.
18. Restricted Service / Internal Do-Not-Serve Register
Where GMB has documented and reasonable grounds to conclude that a person or family presents a material fraud, safety, abuse, integrity, reputational or operational risk, GMB may place that person or family on an internal restricted-service or do-not-serve register.
Records are confidential and not ordinarily published or externally disclosed except where authorised or required by law. A listed person may be refused future membership or service.
GMB may retain relevant information where reasonably necessary to protect legitimate interests, prevent repeated misuse, maintain internal records and comply with law.
19. Confidentiality
GMB treats Member information as confidential and handles it according to its Privacy Policy and applicable law. A Member must also respect information received concerning another Member, family or prospective match.
A Member must not publish private information, forward confidential biodata without permission, use information for unrelated commercial purposes, publicly disclose private communications, or use information to harass, threaten, impersonate or harm another person.
GMB may disclose information as reasonably necessary to provide services, operate its business, protect legitimate interests, comply with law or act upon lawful authority.
20. Personal Data and Privacy
GMB's collection and processing of personal information is governed by the GMB Privacy Policy / Privacy Notice, as amended from time to time.
The Member acknowledges that matchmaking requires GMB to collect, review and, where appropriate, communicate relevant matrimonial information to prospective individuals or families to facilitate introductions.
GMB will not sell Member personal data to unrelated advertisers or data brokers. Marketing or media use requiring separate consent is governed by that consent. Statutory data-protection rights remain subject to applicable law.
21. Marketing, Media, Testimonials and Client Success Stories
GMB may obtain express marketing or media authorisation from a Member. Within its scope, this may permit GMB to use:
- the Member's name;
- family name;
- photograph;
- video;
- audio/video testimonial;
- written testimonial;
- approved matrimonial success story;
- wedding, roka, engagement or related event photographs/videos;
- professional designation;
- company or business name;
- authorised company logo or trademark;
Material may be used on GMB's websites, social-media channels, brochures, presentations, advertising, public-relations materials, case studies and other promotional communications.
GMB may reasonably edit authorised material for length, grammar, formatting, captions, layout and presentation without materially distorting a testimonial. Company or trademark use will not be represented as endorsement, partnership or affiliation unless authorised.
Attendance at a wedding, roka or public event does not itself create an unlimited commercial licence. GMB will rely on the applicable permission, licence, consent or lawful basis.
22. Testimonials and Statements
Where a Member provides a testimonial or statement, the Member confirms it reflects their genuine experience and they have the right to provide it.
GMB may use an authorised testimonial within the permission's scope and will not knowingly create a false testimonial or attribute a statement to someone who did not provide or authorise it.
23. GMB Intellectual Property
All rights in GMB's proprietary service materials, website content, templates, systems, written materials, branding, logos, designs, photographs, videos and other intellectual property remain with GMB or its licensors unless otherwise agreed.
A Member receives a limited right to use supplied materials solely for personal matrimonial purposes and may not copy, sell, distribute, commercially exploit, publish or create competing services from them without written permission.
24. Member Conduct
Members shall communicate respectfully with GMB employees, representatives and other Members.
GMB does not tolerate harassment, threats, abusive behaviour, stalking, coercion, deliberate misinformation or conduct creating an unsafe working environment. GMB may immediately restrict or terminate service where conduct materially affects safety or dignity.
25. No Professional Advice
GMB may provide general matchmaking guidance and relationship-oriented assistance. This is not legal, medical, psychological, financial, tax, investment, property or other professional advice.
Where specialist advice is required, the Member should consult an appropriately qualified independent professional.
26. Limitation of GMB's Responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GMB shall not be responsible for losses, disputes, injuries, damages or other consequences arising solely from:
- false, incomplete or misleading information supplied by a Member or third party, where GMB complied with its applicable verification process and had no reasonable basis to identify it as false;
- decisions independently made by a Member or family;
- the acts, omissions, statements, intentions, conduct, health, finances, character or future actions of another person or family;
- disputes or circumstances arising in a relationship after an introduction;
- an engagement, marriage or post-marriage dispute between the parties;
- conduct occurring independently of GMB's direct control;
- use or misuse of information by a person other than GMB;
- events beyond GMB's reasonable control;
GMB does not assume responsibility merely because an introduction originated through GMB for later social, financial, medical, physical, psychological, family or personal consequences arising from independent conduct or decisions.
General guidance does not make GMB a party to the relationship. A Visit does not make GMB a guarantor of a person's or family's conduct, representations, finances, health, safety or circumstances.
This limitation does not exclude GMB's fraud or wilful misconduct, liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, mandatory statutory consumer rights or any other liability applicable law requires GMB to retain.
27. Member Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, the Member agrees to indemnify and hold harmless GMB, its directors, officers, employees and authorised representatives from third-party claims, losses and reasonable costs arising directly from:
- the Member's material breach of these Terms.
- knowingly false or fraudulent information supplied by the Member.
- the Member's unlawful use of GMB services.
- the Member's infringement of a third party's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
- the Member's unlawful or abusive conduct toward another person.
This indemnity does not require a Member to indemnify GMB for liabilities caused by GMB's own unlawful conduct.
28. Force Majeure
GMB shall not be responsible for delay, interruption or inability to provide services caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including major technical failures, telecommunications disruption, internet outages, natural disasters, government actions, civil disturbance, epidemic or pandemic events, severe security incidents, labour disruptions, travel disruption or comparable circumstances.
GMB will take reasonable steps to restore or resume affected services where practicable.
29. Complaints and Grievances
A Member with a complaint should first contact GMB through the designated grievance channel. GMB may review membership records, communications, service activity, Visit records and other information reasonably necessary to investigate.

GMB's detailed process may be set out in the GMB Grievance & Complaint Procedure. Nothing prevents a Member from exercising a statutory right available under applicable law.
30. Electronic Communications and Records
The Member agrees that GMB may communicate through telephone, WhatsApp, email, SMS and other electronic means in connection with the service.
Electronic records, confirmations, invoices, acknowledgements, accepted forms and relevant communications may be maintained as evidence of membership, instructions, introductions, Visits and fee obligations, subject to law.
Promotional communications will be managed under GMB's Privacy Policy and applicable consent requirements.
31. Changes to Services or Terms
GMB may update service processes, operating procedures, communication channels and other aspects of its services, and may update these Terms to reflect changes in services, business practices or law.
The version accepted by a Member applies to that engagement, subject to a later written amendment and mandatory law. GMB may provide appropriate notice where required for a material ongoing-membership change.
32. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India.
Subject to mandatory statutory jurisdiction or remedies, courts of competent jurisdiction in Delhi shall have jurisdiction over disputes arising under these Terms.
Nothing prevents a person from exercising a statutory right to approach a competent consumer commission, regulator, authority or court where available.
33. Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude a right that cannot legally be excluded; waive a statutory consumer remedy; prevent a lawful complaint to a competent authority; restrict a statutory data-protection right; or otherwise operate contrary to mandatory law.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the maximum extent permitted by law.
34. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the applicable membership form or registration record; fee schedule or invoice; Visit/expense confirmation where relevant; GMB Privacy Policy; GMB Website Terms of Use; and expressly incorporated written service documents constitute the contractual framework governing the Member's GMB engagement.
Where a specific written service document expressly varies a general provision, that specific provision governs only to the extent of the stated variation.
35. No Waiver
If GMB does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not constitute a waiver of GMB's right to enforce it later.
36. Severability
If a provision is unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be limited or modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable where legally permissible, and the remaining provisions continue in effect.
